Miami Dade College and Bean Automotive Group to Launch New Automotive Technician Apprenticeship Program July 27

Miami, July 23, 2021 – Miami Dade College (MDC) has partnered with Bean Automotive Group, with the support of South Florida Quarry Source and the Miami-Dade Beacon Council Miami Community Ventures, to offer the first Registered apprenticeship program for automotive technicians. The one-year, 220-hour paid apprenticeship program offers free tuition, health insurance, books and tools.

An official launch will take place Tuesday July 27 at 8:30 a.m. at Lexus of West Kendall. Special guests will include MDC President Madeline Pumariega, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Rick Beasley, Executive Director of CareerSource South Florida, and executives of Bean Automotive, among others.

Sponsored by MDC’s Apprenticeship Program, the Bean Automotive Group Apprenticeship Program combines classroom instruction and on-the-job training to prepare participants to become automotive technician specialists. The hands-on training will take place at one of Bean Automotive Group’s Kendall sites. Upon completion, apprentices will receive a Certificate of Apprenticeship Completion from the Florida Department of Education.
