Car sales June 2021: Kia reports 36% month-on-month sales growth

Automaker Kia India reported a 36% increase in dealer shipments on Thursday to 15,015 units in June, from 11,050 units in May this year. The brand sold 8,549; 5,963 and 503 units of the Seltos, Sonet and Carnival, respectively, last month.

“The past few weeks have shown signs of improving customer sentiment, and we continue to be optimistic about the future. The brand remains focused on delivering the highest level of personalized customer experience and plans to strengthen the digital ecosystem with innovative initiatives such as Digi -connect, ”said Tae-Jin Park, Director of Sales and Business Strategy from Kia India, in a statement.

The automaker, however, remains aware of the current situation and reviews operations week after week, evaluating measures to meet demand for its vehicles, he added.

The automaker noted that the second half of the year is shaping up well for the company as it benefits from the good performance of the first half of the calendar year.

Between January and June 2021, the brand sold nearly 1,000,000 vehicle units in the domestic market. The company will continue to digitize its customer experience to redefine the entire mobility ecosystem and network expansion with futuristic mobility services, he said.

“With the growing interest in the brand in small towns and rural areas, network expansion remains a crucial part of its strategies. Kia has already expanded its network to 300 touchpoints across the country and has solid plans to expand further to Level IV and above. -national markets to connect with customers even in the most remote areas of India, ”he added.
